People ask me how I design loudspeakers. The answer is simple: I hear the sound in my head :) This simple exercise let me define exactly the type of sound I want the loudspeaker to achieve. With a clear definition, the actual engineering is very simple. I just build it.

Obviously, we all want the “best sound” but what is good sound? To me, good sound happens when I forget about sound and dive into the music and let the emotions float. As long as I stay in analysis mode, I know my work isn’t done. It may take hours, days, weeks — even years… But If I start a critical listening session and feel my brain wander away — and I just dig in the musical message, feel a complete sensation of happiness and well being. When this state of receptivity happens, I know my work is done.

These days, bad loudspeakers are the exception. With computer-aided design, any engineer with sufficient knowledge can design a good loudspeaker. Perhaps not great, but good, and certainly good enough.

I do not do good enough.

For me, a loudspeaker is an Art object. It’s a sculpture, a vector of beauty. You want to touch it, you want to look at it. From all angles, it must convey a message of Beauty and well being. I strongly believe
