Cambridge Audio CX Series Back In Black

Cambridge Audio CX Series Black Edition steps out of the shadows in a slinky limited edition outfit.

Cambridge Audio has taken the wraps off its limited Black Edition of its CX Series 2, comprising the CXA61, CXA81, CXC and Applause Award-winning CXN components.

The music-loving British hi-fi firm touts the CX Series Black Edition as “a marriage of understated class and head-turning brilliance”. However, we cannot deny that the matte black finished aluminium fascia and shimmering black gloss spot 'CX BLACK EDITION' lettering does look rather good. Moreover, the dual texture effect means they even stand out from more common black separates.

The CX Series Black Edition is designed for those refreshing their hi-fi stack to make a discreet yet polished statement. The CX Series Black Edition could also be an option for those seeking to upgrade their system with a colour-matching Cambridge Audio component for the first time.

Only 1,000 units of each component will be available worldwide; each purchase is presented with a certificate of authenticity from Cambridge Audio.

Cambridge Audio CEO, Stuart George, told StereoNET:

Since we stopped making black hi-fi products, people have been asking us to bring them back. We decided to do this limited run in response to that demand – and I have to say, they look pretty damn cool. People love CX, and this finish takes it to the next level.
