DALI Announces Phantom E-WR CI Speaker Series At ISE 2024

DALI's new Phantom E-WR custom-install loudspeakers, designed for indoor and outside use, were unveiled in Barcelona at ISE 2024.

Finding appropriate speakers for outdoor environments can be challenging, particularly those subject to high humidity and temperatures. DALI's new Phantom E-WR speakers aim to solve that problem and provide high-fidelity sound quality for indoor and outdoor listening.

The Phantom E-60 WR and Phantom E-80 WR speakers debuted at ISE 2024. They are robustly constructed to endure temperatures anywhere from -20°C to +60°C, handle 100% humidity levels, and have an IP65 dust and water resistance rating.

Both speakers use a Dali-designed driver with a waterproof polypropylene cone and natural rubber surround. The E-60 WR sports a 6.5-inch driver, while the E-80 WR comes with an 8-inch driver. As for the high-frequency range, both speakers are equipped with a 25mm textile dome tweeter that's housed in a forward-mounted decoupled unit to prevent colouration from the midrange/bass vibrations.

DALI says the Phantom E-WR speakers also use a passive crossover integrated at 3.3kHz, and the drivers are tilted at a 5-degree angle within the ceiling-mount chassis to direct sound to the primary listening area and minimise driver and baffle resonance.

For straightforward installation, the Phantom E-WR speakers feature swing-out dogleg clamps that don't require any specialist tools to install. With a conformally coated crossover, stainless steel clamp screws, epoxy-coated grille magnets and humidity-resistant level adjustment switches, Dali has tried to make these speakers as environmentally resistant as possible for humid climates.

The DALI Phantom E-60 WR and Phantom E-80 WR are available from March 2024 onwards, priced at £299 and £399, respectively.
